June 2007 Featuring NEW LANpoint 7 Terminals, Website tips, more

In this issue....

LANpoint 7 - Customers Speak up about new terminals

LANpoint 7 Fixed-Mount Terminal

Customer feedback is essential to Intelligent Instrumentation's success.  One example is the popular LANpoint CE.NET 1/2 screen graphics terminal, which now comes in the original version and also as a new terminal that incorporates customer feedback. LANpoint 7 incorporates the top 3 improvements that customers have identified:

Here are some customer comments:

My people like the large keyboard on the LANpoint CE.NET terminal.  The keys are widely spaced and easy to use even with "fat fingers".  A lot of metal workers have large hands and sometimes they wear gloves; the full-size keys help a lot.  What I like about the LANpoint 7 is that it only takes about 6" by 11" of tablespace, much less than some other terminals we considered, and still has the full large keyboard on it.

The display on the LANpoint 7 is much brighter and can be seen a lot better from the side. When I'm reviewing yield data with technicians and government quality assurance representatives, we can both see the results easily without jockeying for the best viewing position.

I like the fact that much of the software utilities and the OS is the same as the LANpoint CE.NET.  It makes porting our application that much easier.  Kudos to whoever decided to put the Remote Manager utility from the LANpoint CE.NET onto the LANpoint 7 - it is an easy way to manage all the terminals on the network from a Web browser anywhere, and to upgrade the application when we have a new release.  How did III make all these improvements and still manage to cut the price by so much?

There are a few tips that will make using the Intelligent Instrumentation Website more productive for you.  Here you will find tips to:

- At the very top of every page are common links - things like Site Map, Request Information, Register/Login, Contact Information, etc.  Site Map is a good way to get directly to the information you're looking for.

- there is a navigation menu in the left column.  Sub-pages are indented and usually in smaller text than major pages.

- all product pages have links to sub-pages concerning details about the product across the top of the body of the page.  These are buttons labeled with subjects like "Specifications" and "Ordering Guide"

- many pictures will, when clicked, either open larger versions of the pictures or navigate directly to specific information related to the picture.  Usually the text below the picture will inform you.

- the right column on many product pages has commonly used links, like requesting literature, downloading manuals or files, and navigating to product sub-pages.
